The game is quite playable if you don't want to save anything. I had to turn off hdr lighting to not experience graphic problems.

Save bug is experienced by some windows players too, so it's possible it is doesn't depend on OS.

This bug is caused if the save path is not valid / permissions are not set properly.
Just create folder drive_c/users/
