What works

Starting the game and playing it.

What does not

The launcher won't work - at least with the current state of Bottles and Winetricks.

Workarounds

In the only .exe that will work is the v2game.exe

In order to make it work, you must:

1 - create a 32-bit prefix called Victoria II through the custom option from UseBottles

2 - open terminal and run: WINEPREFIX=~/.var/app/com.usebottles.bottles/data/bottles/bottles/Victoria-II winetricks d3dx9_41 d3dx9_42 quartz

This will install Directx9 and Quartz

Do not use Bottles to install these dependencies: it won't work.

3 - run:

sudo apt install gstreamer1.0-alsa:i386

sudo apt install gstreamer1.0-plugins-base:i386

sudo apt install gstreamer1.0-plugins-good:i386

The game itself should work now. The launcher won't, though.

Additional Comments

I think the launcher would work if you could get dotnet20 installed, however, both Bottles and Winetricks can't seem to install it properly ever.

Use a 32-bit prefix for the game, or else the launcher wont work no matter what.
