Fotostation

What works

• Installation using the setup.exe-file in the setup-folder
• Entering Serial Number
• Splashscreen when loading the application
• Switching between Drag and Drop-View
• Text/Metatags-Dialogue comes up okay when selecting an image from the main view
• Editing functions also come up.but need to be alt-tabbed to
• Opening and closing images
• Cropping images and saving to disk
• Creating shortcut to Linux-Images-Folder in Homedirectory also works
• Rotating images
• Creating image Albums-Wizard (adding description and title as well as exporting to a folder)
• Viewing image albums in the browser (launching directly from Fotostation 4.0)
• Slideshow
• Refreshing search-index
• Sending Print jobs to the printer

What does not

• Metadata dialogue is always show behind the enlarged image when being invoked from there.
• Editing functions need to be called up using Alt-Tab before changing to the picture to close it. (Clicking on "Open" in the main application)
• Tried pulling one image from the Drag&Drop view to GIMP but GIMP wouldn't open the image. (Mouse pointer turns into a crossed traffic sign)

Workarounds

What was not tested

• Integration of PC-Card-Reader
• Integration with the Windows-Shell (adding entries to context-menus)

Additional Comments

As reaching editing functions need to be alt-tabbed to it is not that user-friendly as running it on a Windows platform. Orgainsing images works fine though.
