Tested on Wine 1.9.18-staging To get Uplay working, you need to install additional packages (I installed all of these as per Assassins Creed Linux Guide, some might not be needed). corefonts crypt32 d3dx9 gdiplus vcrun2005 tahoma

Steps to get it working

The game has been tested by me to work very good with Wine 1.7.43 - versions below of that have produced various problems. Make sure to use the latest wine.

Before installing the game through Steam, the .NET installer inside of the game directory has to be removed. It will hang and possibly trash the wineprefix.
Afterwards, run winetricks mwo=enabled d3dx9 dxdiagn


Open up winecfg and set d3d11.dll to Disabled




The game will run now. UPlay's online save feature will not work, though.
