Codec pack that can play everything, also damaged files.
Media Player Classic - Home Cinema (188.8.131.5278)
Many audio and video filters (for performance and effects)
By default all decoding works fine, broken complex videos are handled better then with other players (VLC, mplayer)
Basically Wine 1.6 was first to make it work.
What does not
When loading new video file in same player the window freezes, unless if minimized or if you use null video render (no video)
Any other video render than old, null or Haali.
Subtitle renders – no subtitles. Haali can render subs but is less reliable when playing.
Wrong render will play black media (Directx, same problem in VBoxed Windows with 2D video acceleration)
ffdshow video decoder instead of LAV (not default) (frame freeze)
CD, DVD and BD medias are not detected with Wine. ()
What was not tested
CD, DVD and BD media,
RealMedia and QuickTime
Tested Mega (x86) pack with lots of stuff $ winetricks dsound directmusic Is required to continue installation When installing: at Aditional Tasks and Options - uncheck Use internal subtitle render (ISR) to avoid blank video playing when loading subs. when done installing it may ask to repair some registy to fix sound, say no or it can break wine's sound. As default MPC-HC will use directx render and cause blank video, change it at Options - Playback . Output - DirectShow Video: change to Old Video Render, at set RealMedia and QuickTime Video to System Default Player should work now, but as personal matters I also recommend sound normalization (boosted when to quiet), [StartMenu] - Configuration - ffdshow audio decoder: at left check Volume (Crystality makes clearer sound and LFE crossover boosts low tones)
