What works
I'm italian boy, i speak very little english....
for use winmx, copy dll from (windows xp) c:\windows\system32 to (linux) ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32
dll are:
"cryptui.dll" - "shlwapi.dll" - "shdocvw.dll"
set default_setting in winecfg a Windows XP
import WinMX.exe to application in winecfg and set dll libraries for WinMX.exe
"shlwapi.dll" and "shdocvw.dll" to NATIVE (windows)
DON'T SET CRYPTUI.DLL IF PRESENT.
Now start winmx :D
working test for ... ubuntu(all version), fedora (6-7-8), slackware (11-12)

For Wine 0.9.60 and up
The only dll override needed now is for the connection patch, i.e.
oledlg.dll.
