What works

- Installation through Steam inside wine or download through SteamPlay in Steam for Linux.

- Starting the game (with mfc42 workaround).

- Audio

- Controller Input

- Singleplayer/Campaign

- Multiplayer (LAN)

What does not

With a default wine setup, the game doesn't start and runs slow (see "Workarounds" for the fixes).

Workarounds

The game needs mfc42.dll to start, which was supplied through `winetricks mfc42`.

Also, the wineprefix needs to have CSMT disabled, either through winecfg (if available) or registry ("HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Wine/Direct3D/csmt" set to a DWORD of 0).

What was not tested

- Force Feedback on controllers

Hardware tested

Graphics:

  • GPU: AMD
  • Driver: open source
