Medal of Honor Breakthrough:
Overview
Medal of Honor Allied Assault Breakthrough is the new expansion pack* for the award-winning Medal of Honor Allied Assault. Set in the European Theatre of Operations from 1943-1944, Medal of Honor Allied Assault Breakthrough combines eleven single-player levels with nine new multiplayer maps and includes new locations, new weapons, and new soldiers. As U.S. Army Sergeant John Baker, players will join the battle at Kasserine Pass in North Africa, race to capture Messina in Sicily, and finally repel the German army at the historic battle of Monte Battaglia in the heart of Italy. Armed with a new arsenal of weapons, players will fight alone and with squad mates as they rush to stop the Axis powers by striking at the soft underbelly of Europe.
The multiplayer game has been enhanced with the addition of Liberation Mode. In this mode, defeated players must be rescued by surviving teammates to continue the fight. The popular Tug-of-War and Objective modes also return. In addition, players can drive tanks and minesweepers can lay down and defuse mines. Players can also choose from American, British, Italian, and German skins in all multiplayer modes.
EALA continues to work closely with the Congressional Medal of Honor Society (CMOHS) to ensure the Medal of Honor Allied Assault Breakthrough reflects the ideals and integrity of the prestigious Medal of Honor. Electronic Arts is privileged to be partnered with CMOHS in the Society's continuing education and awareness efforts. You can learn more about the Society and the recipients at the official Society website.
The team also consulted with Capt. Dale Dye, one of the most respected military technical advisors in Hollywood today, to insure the authenticity of the game. Dye has made his mark with projects such as Saving Private Ryan, Platoon, and Band of Brothers as well as all previous games in the Medal of Honor franchise.

Problem:
Medal of honor crashes upon startup on Intel Graphics when running under Wine 1.3.
Cause:
Due to Graphics Subsystem Drivers and the way it handles long extensions for OpenGL. The application fails to start.
Resolution:
- Open Terminal
- Enter MESA_EXTENSION_MAX_YEAR=2003 wine moh_Breakthrough.exe to run the application
Known issues:
- My testing shows that Medal of Honor is still incompatible with Wine 1.4 as well as Wine 1.5. You will need Wine 1.3 along with the MESA_EXTENSION parameter as I described above to run the application. Tested Multiplayer as well under Wine 1.3 - Working no problems.
