What works

Game is fully playable, no glitches found except one: When rafting in the swamp, the raft + Guybrush was displaced from the true location (point of rotation and splashes in the water). This is more likely a vanilla bug because I wasn't ready yet to traverse the swamp. Also couldn't open the gate because of that. The final time I tried (after some more doing other stuff) all was well.

Cut scene movies are choppy out of the box. This can be fixed by changing from Direct3D mode to OpenGL mode (in the options section of the starter application).

Cut scene movies when using Direct3D mode. Switch to OpenGL mode!

HowTo / Notes

HOWTO Install the game
To install the game, you have to switch CDs during the process. The easiest way is to "mount one over the other":
  • mount cd1.iso /mnt/image
  • start installer and wait for it to ask for the other CD
  • mount cd2.iso /mnt/image
  • wait for the installer to ask for the first CD again
  • umount /mnt/image
  • finish the installtion
You can also use wine eject x: command, but it does not always work for me.
HOWTO Make graphics work
OBSOLETE: This addresses blue faces, hands etc, and more glitches! (not for every wine version apparently, please test this)
Use monkey4.exe to run the game (the launcher), not monkey.exe (the game itself).
Also, setup graphics to use OpenGL instead of Direct3D and 32bpp (in the launcher options).
