Installed clean copy of version 5.0. (Installer asked to install Visual C++ Runtime; not sure if it succeeded or not.)
Used Setup.exe to install Update 8.
VisualDSP runs. Creating a project, adding files, building, and saving works.
What does not
Cannot open existing Project; it generates a Visual C++ Runtime exception and kills the program.
When creating a new Project, the settings pages for "Library Settings" and "Add Startup Code/LDF" don't show up.
Several operations fail because of an unimplemented function (atl80.dll.AtlIPersistPropertyBag_Save) in Wine: creating new JTAG session; exiting the application.
A few labels in dialog boxes are cut off; it looks like the font is just a little wider than what VisualDSP expects.
What was not tested
Couldn't test communicating with JTAG emulator because of previous errors
