What works

• Installation.
• The launch window which appears when the application is executed.
• The logo movies (Bink) which appear after the option for "play" is selected from the above-mentioned window.
• Starting the game or tutorial (if you know which item to select from the menu, as the text is illegible).
  

What does not

• Reading the on-screen text in menus.
• Playing the game: In-game objects appear out-of-shape and colour. (Shader problem?).

Additional Comments

DirectX was not installed. The game was run in "DirectX 7" mode. Running it in "DirectX 9" mode causes the game to crash. To prevent the application from crashing/hanging after launch (following the logo movies), Uncheck "Load Textures On Demand" from the "Video" tab in the configuration window. Alternatively, set `use_ondemand_textures = 0' in the configuration file (`rgl_config.txt'). The game had worked well in Wine v. 1.7.13.

If you're getting low FPS with Warband, try the following: Enable single threading. Open the "~/.wine/drive_c/users/your_user_name/My Documents/Mount&Blade Warband/rgl_config.txt" (change the path to reflect your Warband installation) configuration file and set "force_single_threading" attribute to 1.
