What works

Anything

What does not

1) Installer misses "PidGen.dll".
This Lib tries to create a product key, and the installer will not go on if this is missed.
If you start the setup with wine using the -v flag it reveals that the root cause is a missing "mfc42.dll". If this Library is indeed missing, download it from the web (e.g. from http://de.dll-files.com/mfc42.dll.html). Unzip the file and put it somewhere, where the setup may find it (e.g. the installation folder, or the "system32" folder).
If it is still not working, take a look at the file. The game expects it to be "MFC42.DLL", please note the upper cases! Rename file if necessary. Restart the setup executable with wine.

2) Mouse goes wild in high resolution.
If Changed resolution in-game from 800x600x32 (default) to 1280x1024x32, the mouse run away to the left and also flickered quite heavy.
Solution: enable a virtual desktop for the game that controls input devices.
To do so, run "winecfg", add "DungeonSiege2.exe" as new Application and
in the "graphics"-section check out the "emulate virtual desktop"-option. Restart game.
