(2013-05-03) Admin note: The instructions below are very old; dcom98 cannot be used in current Wine.
1.1) Download at download.microsoft.com/download/d/1/3/d13cd456-f0cf-4fb2-a17f-20afc79f8a51/DCOM98.EXE
1.2) Run WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ole32=n" wine dcom98.exe
2) Put these in your config file (~/.wine/config)
[AppDefaults\\swp-pro.exe\\DllOverrides]
"ole32" = "native"
"oleaut32" = "native"
"rpcrt4" = "native"
[AppDefaults\\swp-pro500.exe\\DllOverrides]
"ole32" = "native"
"oleaut32" = "native"
"rpcrt4" = "native"
3) Now run
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ole32,oleaut32,rpcrt4=n" wine swp-pro500.exe
4) Go to ~/.wine/drive_c/swp50
5) Run WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ole32,oleaut32,rpcrt4=n" wine swp-pro.exe
6) Voilà! (If the Scientific Workplace splash screen does not go
off, try right-clicking on the application bar and choosing close, one
or two times.
