I experienced the same problems as other users, so I opened the C: folder and went to /The Learning Company folder and opened the OT5.exe file. Everything works perfectly. It appears that the intro screen advertising other TLC products, i.e., Carmen San Diego, is what causes the problems. This bypasses these problems.
