1. Create a new wine prefix for brothers with win32 architecture $ WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=~/win32brothers winecfg 2. Install Steam client in that wine prefix $ WINEPREFIX=~/win32brothers wine start SteamInstall.msi This will install the steam client but it will not show any text. After the installation is finished exit Steam and start it with: WINEPREFIX=~/win32brothers wine ~/win32brothers/drive_c/Program\ Files/Steam/Steam.exe -no-dwrite You can now use it to download brothers (click "install" in the library). The installation will succeed but the first time run of brothers will fail. 3. Install missing dlls $ WINEPREFIX=~/win32brothers winetricks dlls xact_jun2010 4. Run the game without the launcher $ WINEPREFIX=~/win32brothers wine ".wine/drive_c/Program Files/ Steam/SteamApps/common/Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons/Binaries/Win32/Brothers.exe" If it does not run, check the console output for linux libraries that wine depends on. I have also tried to install the xinput dlls with: $ WINEPREFIX=~/win32brothers winetricks dlls xinput But I could not get my Logitech F710 to run with the game.
