The third title in the Carmageddon series.
There are three modes of play: "Free Play", which consists of 30 races across 9 different environments; "Campaign", which consists of 30 races across 9 different environments and 25, challenging and individual missions, "Multiplayer", which features 5 different Death-Match arenas with 7 different network games. The last mode represents the core of the game. Animated props such as working cranes, lifts and bridges produce a gaming environment which seems to be alive. For the first time you can customise your car. The people in the maps are interactin with their environment, like crossing streets or waiting in front of theatres. The cops are also back again, so watch out!
Technically the game is up-to-date measured to it's release. Reflections, Rain, Smoke, Shadows, Surround Sound, ... Now drive em to hell!
What does not
What was not tested
other versions than DE (German)
The keyboard layout can be changed to US by running "setxkbmap us". Tested against wine 1.5.1 in parallel. This is a regression compared to wine 1.5.1! Videos have issues (Videos are only visible in parts. Move the mouse pointer to the upper left corner to see them completely in fullscreen) The game showed a black screen after generating the graphics profile as the 2D mode is broken - had to kill the process. Even with directx9 from winetricks the multiplayer mode doesn't work any more. With this package the game freezes when clicking on the multiplayer mode.
