Entire single player campaign (with a necessary hack for "hangar bug").
Game should be installed using "Complete Install" option. For the best single player experience, I copied over all files from the CDs to the install directory (this is optional if you only want to do custom missions).
You must apply hacks 71, 42, and 44* from XWAHacker.
You can download it from: http://sourceforge.net/projects/xwahacker/ Put it in your install directory and do these commands:
chmod +x xwahacker
./xwahacker xwingalliance.exe -p 71
./xwahacker xwingalliance.exe -p 42
./xwahacker xwingalliance.exe -p 44
[For those that want to know what this does: chmod makes the script executable, patch 71 enables the Linux hangar bug fix, patch 42 disables CD checking (because 71 breaks it :p), patch 44 enables mission voices from HDD]
What does not
You can run in 3D mode, but may encounter the following error (I didn't have this problem when testing in software rendering, but did in 3D hardware.): You may need to press Alt+Tab to refocus the game after entering and exiting hangar.
I had some issues toward the end with cutscenes cutting off a few seconds from the end and glitchy audio that usually cleared up without the need for a program restart.
What was not tested
Combat Sim (noted to work great by others)
