What works
Installation on 64bit-prefix and at least Win7 environment works after some dll�s have been pre-installed with winetricks, see workarounds section;
msxml3 might be sufficient for installation but more might be needed for running the program.
Programm hangs at startup when scanning �Media Core�, if original �wmvcore.dll� from a native Windows installation is missing. Search for �wmvcore� in Windows partition brings 3x wmvcore.dll in different subdirectories in �windows� folder plus 2 �manifest� folders. Copying these to the same position in �drive_c/windows/� subdirectories will make AE run.
If installation of �vcredist 2008 x64� gives an error message, copying original file from native windows installation might help (in my case a non-working installation of version CS5 did not run but brought working vcredist for CS6)

in my case I found up to 4 wmvcore.dll, it should be sufficient to use the ones in these directories:
c:/Windows/System32
c:/Windows/SysWOW64
Maybe it might run only when also used these ones:
c:/Windows/winsxs/amd64_microsoft.........../
c:/Windows/winsxs/x86_microsoft.........../
In case of the last two directories, I recommend to also copy the amd64.../x86....-manifest files in the /winsxs/manifests directory
