What works

Patching (Partially)

Logging in

Foundry and Arsenal

Mission Selector

What does not

When the launcher has to update itself, its normally supposed to replace itself properly. On Wine, it doesn't

Workarounds

What was not tested

Due to my low hardware specifications, I kept crashing in areas of missions that were large and/or had many details. Due to that, I cant actually test if the mission success screen works.

Additional Comments

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1yNvt8N0UBKZUQ0KdUq04XT1CRwS3tY_EHx7vAPHJkHk/edit?usp=sharing That is my log I made for this. You can comment on it if you feel the need to. I did "winetricks ie8 vcrun2015 d3dx9", and in winecfg in the staging tab, I did Enable CMST for Better Graphic Performance. You can fix the patcher repeatably restarting and downloading a new version of itself by replacing Launcher.exe in Warframe/Tools with Launcher.exe.cpy also inside Warframe/Tools with the command "mv Launcher.exe.cpy Launcher.exe"

HowTo / Notes

To get Warframe working on Arch Linux

winetricks: d3dx9 wininet winhttp xact hosts corefonts fontfix vcrun2015

overrides: dnsapi (builtin, native) rasapi32 (native) wininet (native, builtin) winhttp (native, builtin)

Windows version: Windows XP

staging: Enable CSMT, Enable VAAPI, Enable EAX

Launcher: Enable only: Bulk Download, Aggressive Download, (and Launcher GPU acceleration if you want it)

In Game: Disable adaptive exposure as it doesn't work properly and keeps making the area dark and light in a loop, and disable motion blur as it can sometimes cause stutters and/or freezes.

Wine version: wine-staging 2.1 on Arch Linux via standard pacman -S wine-staging (not aur)

Note

Currently, the Launcher will not properly update itself, and will instead download the new launcher, close itself, relaunch itself, and repeat.

How to solve that is to go into the Steam/steamapps/common/Warframe/Tools/ folder, and replace "Launcher.exe" with "Launcher.exe.cpy".

A single command to do that would be "mv Launcher.exe.cpy Launcher.exe".

The note below this one doesn't need to be followed.

Troubleshooting
DLL Overrides from Jackled:
  • dwrite — disabled
  • raspi32 — builtin, native
  • wininet — builtin, native
