When using large images the map views overdraw the image. This is a visual artifact only, and does not impact the game mechanics, but does interfere with seeing other UI elements. This is annoying, but can be worked around by setting the UI scaling to 99% instead of 100%, which somehow changes the rendering to avoid the overdraw.
