Baldur's Gate Trilogy is a modification which intends to create a continuity between Baldur's Gate, its expansion Tales of the Sword Coast, Baldur's Gate II, and its expansion Throne of Baal.

It's a mod to BG2 and it will modify BG2 game files to include everything needed.

This version is from + BGT-WeiDU 1.18 and a few minor other mods.

Additional Comments

Baldur's Gate I & II were taken from BGT and other mods were taken from around the web. There is no "easy" install for mods, but it works very well once installed. There even are tools to install the mods with Linux ! :). Needed : - WeiDU Linux 236 (binaries provided on their website) - Baldur's Gate II Fixpack v10 - Baldur's Gate Trilogy-WeiDU 1.18 (from git since the forums seem to timeout) - Baldur's Gate Unfinished Business v13 ( - Baldur's Gate II Unfinished Business v23 ( This is how I did it : - Install BG1 with wine - Install BG2 with wine - Put WeiDU binaries somewhere in the path - Put bg2fixpack folder in BG2 folder - Put bgt folder & setup-bgt.tp2 in BG2 folder - Copy bgt/install/unix/x86 to bgt/install/unix/amd64. If you don't, weinstall will complain about missing binaries. This should only happen on x64 systems, not on i386 I suppose. - Copy bg1ub folder to BG2 folder - Copy BG2 unfinished business binary to BG2 folder - Run it with wine so it uncompress necessary files - Kill it when it runs WeiDU installer (ctrl-c + kill process, it seems that running weinstall from wine doesn't work as expected) - Run tolower from BG2 folder, answer Y to questions. - Run weinstall bg2fixpack - Run weinstall bgt - Run weinstall bg1ub - Run weinstall ub I ran everything in English, I didn't test other languages. I might have tested French, but version is in English only according to their website, and I didn't want to create problems. I described the installation here, and I might update if I find any issue :

HowTo / Notes

Multiplayer via Directplay
Mentioned in a comment by zsolty_szasz:

Multiplayer can work, but requires some setup first.

The problem is with the current DirectPlay implementation. Read here how to set it up:

To get multiplayer working for games that use a DirectPlay version prior to 8, place the following DLLs:
dplayx.dll, dpnet.dll, dpnhpast.dll and dpwsockx.dll in this archive in WINE's windows/system32 directory, then add DLL overrides (native, builtin) with WINECFG.

In case of any problems be sure to see the instructions on

Peformance issues solution
by Stefan Reichelt on Friday August 1st 2014, 17:35
Also, for anyone who has performance issues (stuttering, general framerate drop, character movement stuttering, animation stuttering) even though this old game should run without any problem on your computer, it is because you installed too many mods.

However, there is a mod called 'generalized_biffing' which converts all installed mod files into a file format better suited for and easier loaded by the game. BGT does this also while you install it.
The mod 'generalized_biffing' should be installed last after all others.

This took me a while to figure out, so hope the next person here has less problems!

I have problem. I did everything step by step and on first sight it works but game gets crash when i'm trying open a world map. I'm getting this:

Can someone help me?

I had the same problem, the worldmap (either through map screen or when exiting area) freezes/crashes my game (only BG1 though). However after some searching I found the mod bp-bgt-worldmap [1] which changes the default worldmap (for both games if you want) to a much bigger, more detailed one and it works with it! :)

Here are my install steps:
BG1 install
BG2 install
Copying all mod files into BG2
weinstall bg2fixpack
weinstall bgt
weinstall bgtmusic
weinstall bp-bgt-worldmap
weinstall bg1ub
weinstall ub
