VTFEdit is a GUI frontend for the functions contained within VTFLib,
an LGPL open source programming library. VTFEdit is a successor to
VTFTool and is written by Neil "Jed" Jedrzejewski and Ryan "Nemesis"
VTFEdit produces mipmaps and DXTn compressed images using Nvidia's nvDXTlib library, offering a wide range of formats and filters:
the ability to create normal texture maps
from greyscale images, various sharpening filters for MIP Map
generation, access to all VTF header flags, a simple tree-based VMT
creation system with GCF access, a WAD conversion tool, a batch conversion tool, and a VMT creation wizard.
The setup goes smoothly and works as intended.
Assigning .VMT and .VTF files to VTFEdit also works as intended.
(Meaning: You can open these files from outside of wine with the program which gives a seamless transition from Windows)
.VMT files are working as intended.
What does not
Unfortunately, .VTF files don't seem to be working.
Attempting to load\create .VTF files lead to an exception (i'll verify if this reoccurs in regular wine and if a bug report needs to be opened)
What was not tested
Converting WAD files and Converting folders were not tested.
Features that have to do with .VTF files were not tested as i wasn't able to open .VTF files
