Pinnacle Studio

What works

The typical install works with Advanced Effects. Ubuntu 8.04, wine 9.6.1.
Initially installed as Studio 9.0. Patched to 9.4.3.

What does not

Running studio.exe. Actually, it runs, the main workspace appears, then disappears...getting close. I can feel it!

Things I did to try and get Pinnacle Studio 9 working with Ubuntu Hardy and Wine 9.6.1 1) Installed the latest patch for studio 9 2) Got error message indicating a dll was missing. It was: msvcirt.dll 3) So I found it online here: http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvcirt 4) unziped it and put it into: ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32/ 5) also added to the list of program under winecfg. 6) upon running studio 9 again got further, then got error about Arial font not found...will address that later...MS Sans Serif, too... 7) Another dll missing... wine: Call from 0x7b8445e0 to unimplemented function cfgmgr32.dll.CM_Locate_DevNodeA, aborting 8) cfgmgr32.dll was all uppercase, made it lowercase. 9) now getting cfgmgr32.dll.CM_Locate_DevNodeW error similar to one above.
