What works

Everything I could test worked without any problem or any tweak. This includes:

  • General editing features (text typing, formatting, copy/paste, …);
  • Built-in graphics, including anchored frames and import of image files;
  • Cross-references, within a document or between different ones;
  • Variables;
  • Tables;
  • Books, including table of contents and index;
  • Saving as PDF (which is done via a hack in FrameMaker v6, since it prints through a specific PostScript driver, then runs Acrobat Distiller on it - but it worked out of the box without any problem).

What does not

If I want to nitpick, I'd say that the displayed text looks ugly, but it probably comes from TrueType antialiasing not being available on Linux.

Workarounds

What was not tested

Footnotes, hypertext links, equations, conditional text (the documents I'm working on just don't contain these, so I didn't test them - I can't see a reason why they would not work though).
