What works
Game installs and runs in DirectX9 mode. DirectX11, doesn't work since wine doesn't have it implemented at all.
What does not
The sound in the game doesn't work at all because wine doesn't have any XAudio implemented, in particular, Banished requires XAudio2_7.dll
The workaround is to install xact, winetricks xact_jun2010
