What works
The driver can be installed, the test program try1432.exe started just fine on wine.
What does not
The test program try1432.exe has a number of diagnostic tests; running them fails at the first step when trying to connect to the USB-connected CED 1401 hardware device with the following error message.
"Pass    0 - Failure opening 1401 - device driver not installed or not loaded (code -581) at ... "

Additional Comments
I've also recompiled wine with USB support [1] according to the instructions [2]. The instructions in [1] are laborious, but I think, I've managed to complete them all. [1] http://wiki.winehq.org/USB [2] http://wiki.winehq.org/Wine64 (Building a shared WoW64 setup) Without being able to use the USB connected device, the application is pretty much useless.
