What works

Basically everything:

  • Hosting a game
  • Joining a game
  • Inventory Management
  • Skill Management
  • Almost every heist. Have yet to test Hoxton Revenge
  • Shooting at the Police Turret
  • Graphics Settings

What does not

I really couldn't find anything that didn't work. There was some stuttering in the audio, but that may be fixable with some tweaking.

I think there may be an issue with how the game does anisotropic filtering, I gained better performance lowering it from 16x to 4x but that may be an isolated thing,

What was not tested

I usually use Pocohud on my Windows side, but I didn't test it this time since it's twitchy with the Spring Break updates.

Hardware tested

  • GPU:
  • Driver:

Additional Comments

I'm marking this as Gold for now because of the stuttering that I'm going to try looking into and tweaking. Almost everything runs fine, just make sure you're using the Windows version of Steam, and have all that jazz updated. Here's to the Linux release in the fall!

Game Only Works if Disabling SteamOverlay

I can't use mic or invite people to play because of this. Any fix?
No shadows
by Konrad on Monday July 14th 2014, 10:35
There're no dynamic shadows in this game. Completely.

There are some static shadows, which are prerendered, but no dynamic ones.

How can I fix it?

I've tried to fix it by putting " " in render_settings.xml, which is placed at game dir, but it won't work.

P.S: Sorry for bad english.

Putting "dynamic shadows = high" value, I meant.

Payday 2 works fine, but I haven't had any luck with installing HodHud. I put the files in the right place, but the game just loads the standard UI. Any tips?

It appears you can fix the problem by setting the load order for IPHLPAPI.dll to "(native, builtin)". Once that's done, configure the mod as you would with any Windows installation.

How do you do it?? I can't figure it out

Right now, you can't. Overkill broke mod compatibility for all users (Windows, Linux or otherwise) during their Crimefest 2015 update.

Perhaps it'll work again some time in the future, but my understanding is that the API hook the mods relied upon is now disabled or missing entirely.

Payday 2 is now a mod-free experience. Sorry.
