What works
everything, same as on windows. sound, menus, rendering, all there.
What does not
will not launch if not set to windows 7 mode, where as wine staging 2.20 is defaults to XP HOWEVER that's REALLY a wine problem for which requires a work around. So technically it falls between Gold and Platinum.
Workarounds
had to set fallout2.exe and fallout2hr.exe to windows 7 mode, where as wine staging 2.20 is default to windows xp globally.
What was not tested
anything past 5 minutes of play.

Gold because i had to manually set the windows version for the game, other wise it works out of box and would be a solid platinum.
