Installation

You must have a clean wine prefix and your wine version cannot be any higher than 1.6.x. You must also have the latest graphics drivers installed and if you are using ATI, you must have the proprietary drivers installed. You must also have a 32-bit wine prefix as well.

Just set WINEARCH=win32 before you run wine and it should create a 32-bit prefix for you.

For the most part, just install winetricks and run this,

 winetricks corefonts dxfullsetup dotnet40 msxml3 vcrun2005 vcrun2008 vcrun2010 xact_jun2010 fontsmooth=rgb

Once you have all those installed, just run the setup inside the wine prefix and just keep it checked at the end and press finish. The game will start and probably freeze up at the logo, but if it does, just do CTRL+ALT+F2 (or whatever your distro has to get to a diff run level), login and run "killall UDK.exe". This should end the process and you can now go to the game's location and edit the config. The config is located in "drive_c/Program Files/Renegade X/UDKGame/Config". You want to edit the UDKSystemConfig.ini and set FullScreen to False. Now you should be able to start the game up and you should not have any problems with it locking up.

Unstable Wine

Do not try to use wine 1.7+, the game will not even start and it will crash instantly. I'm not sure what they added in 1.7, but it affects the way .NET is processing the game.
