Workarounds

the launcher.exe need to be replaced manually with the launcher.exe.cpy in the same folder (see below) after each update before the new patch is able to load

winetricks dxvk msxml6 vcrun2015 xact

windows version set to 7 or 8.1 in winecfg

Additional Comments

Installation Workaround:

create a 64bit wineprefix (32bit and WinXP support ends February 2019) and use winetricks dxvk msxml6 vcrun2015 xact

run the warframe.msi and close the launcher after it gets into the update loop

replace the launcher.exe with the launcher.exe.cpy in Warframe/drive_c/users/"your username"/Local Settings/Application Data/Warframe/Downloaded/Public/Tools

run the launcher.exe, it will crash 2 times as it fails to find the right directX version

run the launcher.exe again, disable directX10 (and mass download if you have problems) in the settings

let the launcher download the game (if you disable mass download you won't see a progress bar)

done

Sound Problems

if there is still no sound in game with winetricks xact, put the .dll files from the FAudio folder from here: https://gitlab.com/GloriousEgg... in drive_c/windows/system32/ (replace existing ones) and set xaudio2_0...9 to native in winecfg
