What works

Main Program works, IL Content Manager works in standalone mode.

What does not

- The 32 to 64 VST Bridge is crashy on FL64.exe.

- Audio Settings dialog is still fussy. Press F10 until it appears.

- Some third-party plugins won't always load. Rhythmus is an example.

Additional Comments

After installing, the following needs to be done to get it working properly: - Winetricks: install Corefonts and Droid fonts - Navigate to "~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Image-Line/FL Studio 11/System/Installers/VorbisACM/codec" and run "CodecInstaller.exe". (That's what I did and it seemed to work). The use of a Compositing Window Manager (like Cinnamon) seems to exacerbate a GUI issue with the Wine Pulseaudio Driver, causing a cascading overrun. Using the MATE desktop will minimize this a great deal (by 95%). It WILL occur on occasion, but not nearly as often. There are a few things the user can do to mitigate this issue: - Install the MATE Desktop Environment (there's documentation on the Linux Mint site how to do that). Seriously, do it. - Tools -> Macros -> Toggle smart disable for all plugins (this will help in ALL circumstances, and is something everyone should be doing anyway ...) - Save your project, close and then restart FL Studio. Something else I have done, simply as a matter of course, is to make a bash script to launch FL Studio with. Maybe it isn't necessary, but we as Linux users tend to cover all bases don't we. Your needs may differ, and the below may not work for everyone. // start after this line! // #!/bin/bash export LD_PRELOAD="libpthread.so.0 libGL.so.1" export __GL_THREADED_OPTIMIZATIONS=1 wine "~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Image-Line/FL Studio 11/FL.exe" & // don't copy after the above line! // Save it as start-fl.sh, change the properties to -x, make a launcher on your Desktop, presto. So finally, I'm giving it a Bronze rating because of: - the need to install an alternative Desktop Environment for proper functionality - the need to restart the program WHEN the Cascade Overrun issue begins to occur (which it eventually WILL).

HowTo / Notes

Set a virtual desktop for FL Studio to better support window managers, and workspaces.

The FL Studio UI can sometimes go haywire if you workspaces in your desktop environment - the audio engine works and events are handled (for example, space still plays/pauses the project) but the UI is frozen.
