What was not tested
Detailed test of each item but haven't encountered anything yet.
Disable the Steam overlay (It works now but causes issues with mouse movement and focus. So best to disabled it still.) Setup a 32-bit Windows XP wineprefix with dotnet40 and vbrun6. oleaut32.dll and mscoree.dll must set to native. x3daudio1_7 must also be set to native on 1.7.38 to get sound. Delete checksum.xml so that it'll start. Replace TransparentMaterials.sbc with the corrected one so that transparent stuff isn't black in window mode. Mouse warping seems to be working in everything except "Fullscreen Window" now. Do the Virtual Desktop/ Window mode trick if you have trouble. Setting Video memory in regedit might help with the save game issue. Also lowing graphics settings seems to help too. It still saves when it crashes with autosave on so you don't really lose anything other than patience.

In order to fix the issue with transparent textures rendering as black boxes you need to edit the TransparentMaterials.sbc file located in 'Steam/SteamApps/common/SpaceEngineers/Content/Data' and add "<AlphaSaturation>1</AlphaSaturation>" to every entry that does not already have an AlphaSaturation tag.
