Version available to download on Steam.
Installing and starting the game through steam.
What does not
Loading a world. (The game either reports running out of memory or simply does not open the world)
What was not tested
Playing the game itself could not be tested due to being unable to load a world.
Make sure that steam is installed on the wineprefix and runs. Install dotnet40 and vb6run through winetricks. Disable d3d11.dll with winecfg and start the game normally. After starting the game it will auto-select DirectX9 and, if desired, d3d11.dll can be re-enabled. Do NOT however change the graphics option back to DirectX11 in-game! When trying to load a save or tutorial, the game will report that DirectX11 is unsupported, and as such Planets will not be loaded. After this the normal loading screen will appear. The game will eventually hang on loading, and, on next restart, might report that it has crashed due to running out of memory. During this the console may be spammed with a repeating error message from wine.

In order to fix the issue with transparent textures rendering as black boxes you need to edit the TransparentMaterials.sbc file located in 'Steam/SteamApps/common/SpaceEngineers/Content/Data' and add "<AlphaSaturation>1</AlphaSaturation>" to every entry that does not already have an AlphaSaturation tag.
This can be done manually, or use the file from here http://pastebin.com/tXsSAkCF
