Additional Comments

The prefix contains several vcrun modules and d3dx11_42, d3dx11_43 via winetricks. Perhaps I seem to recall typing dotnet35 also... I will say that the crashes appeared the day when I toggled on anisotropy: medium and antialiasing: sharp, and raised resolution to 4k (rather than 1080p); I don't recall whether or not I trialed 2560x1440.

Arrow keys don't work
by Zootal on Friday February 13th 2015, 12:58
I can get the game to install and run, but the escape key doesn't do anything, and the arrow keys don't scroll. I've seen people complain about this on Windows also, but don't know of a solution. Anyone?

Zootal:

What version of WINE etc. are you using? It's still working for me as of 1.7.29.

Disable Steam overlay
by Peter Berry on Tuesday September 2nd 2014, 22:02
When I got to the "create a profile" screen, the first keystroke crashed the game. Installing d3dx9 and dotnet35 and most importantly disabling the Steam overlay fixed this. I don't know if it makes a difference but I'm also using Windows 8 mode.

As mentioned in the addition comments, .NET and DirectX are required to play. It's a point about the Steam Overlay, I habitually turn it off.

Why are you running this in WINE if you're using Windows? How does that effect your environment?

I think you misread my comment. I'm not using Windows, I'm using Windows 8 *mode*.
