What works
Pretty much everything. There were no obvious gameplay issues
What does not
You will get a black screen upon launching the game, unless you put the d3dx9_43 override in place.
The fonts will also appear incorrectly unless you install the Windows fonts in WINE. To do that: Open Winetricks>Select Default wineprefix>Install a font>all fonts. Then wait for many popup windows to appear and disappear. This fixes the in game font.
NOTE: Minor glitches in mud rendering. This is a known bug, but it definitely does not impede gameplay
Workarounds
Open Winetricks
Select Default Wineprefix
Change Settings (alternatively, just run '$ winecfg' in terminal)
Add application (browse to spintires.exe in the installed directory)
Go to libraries tab
Type 'd3dx9_43' or select from drop down
Click 'add' and 'apply'
The game should run after that

Issues with rendering of mud splashes and some ruts. This does not affect gameplay, and this issue does not affect all mud.

Open Winetricks

Click 'Edit'
Set to Native (Windows)
Click 'add' and 'apply'
The game should run after that. (Note: this works on stable wine, and is currently broken. There is a bug report open for this)
