What works
Audio
No video with Wine 3.3. Wine 3.0 works will though
What does not
No video upon launching the game, even with the d3dx9_43 override in place
Workarounds
I still get no video on launch with WINE 3.3. But for older versions of WINE, the following workaround tutorial is still valid:
The fonts will also appear incorrectly unless you install the Windows
fonts in WINE. To do that: Open Winetricks>Select Default
wineprefix>Install a font>all fonts. Then wait for many popup
windows to appear and disappear. This fixes the in game font.
NOTE: Minor glitches in mud rendering. This is a known bug, but it definitely does not impede gameplay
Workarounds
Open Winetricks
Select Default Wineprefix
Change Settings (alternatively, just run '$ winecfg' in terminal)
Add application (browse to spintires.exe in the installed directory)
Go to libraries tab
Type 'd3dx9_43' or select from drop down
Click 'add' and 'apply'
The game should run after that
What was not tested
Extensive gameplay.
What was not tested
any gameplay
Hardware tested
