Sun's 1.5.0 release
This version introduced generic types and some new C-friendly I/O calls. The Sun JRE for Linux is even better-integrated with GNOME than before, but we're not trying to run the Linux runtime...
Doesn't actually complete the install.
What does not
The installer fails to install files, but indicates to the user that installation did actually complete successfully.
What was not tested
Anything other than the installer.
Tested with 5.0 SP16, which is the latest release from the Sun website. Java 5.0 has been EOL'ed, users are being advised to switch to the 6.0 release.
