SimCity 4

What works

I used the GOG version of SimCity 4 Deluxe and downloaded the file for the offline installation.

Installation worked okay with a separate Wine32 Wine-Prefix. Some run time error message popped up, but could just be klicked away with 'Okay'. After starting the game, graphics started flickering. Therefore I used a parameter when starting the game (as mentioned by other users here on this platform):

WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=/usr/local/windows/games/simcity4deluxe/ wine ./SimCity\ 4.exe -CustomResolution:enabled -r2560x1440x32

Afterwards the graphics looked normal. The sound was normal. I played the game for approx. 2hrs and had not issues.

What does not

3. Afterwards the graphics looked normal.
4. The built in music sounds funny. I did not try to fix it, as I never liked that anyway.

After starting the game, graphics started flickering (not being in full screen mode). Therefore I used a parameter when starting the game (as mentioned by other users here on this platform) to go directly into full screen mode:

WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=/usr/local/windows/games/simcity4deluxe/ wine ./SimCity\ 4.exe -CustomResolution:enabled -r2560x1440x32

Afterwards the graphics looked normal.

What was not tested

I didn't play the game longer than 2hrs. I did not try to fix the internal original SimCity4 soundtrack (as I never liked it anyway).
