These results are valid with the Magic 2015 Demo available on Steam. WORKAROUNDS =========== 1. The game will not load past the intro sequence and will crash. Workaround courtesy of http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36977#c2 a. Open winecfg for your $WINEPREFIX b. Use DLL override on "xaudio2_7" and disable it. 2. Steam will attempt to install dependency "Microsoft VC Redist" when starting up the game. The dependency will fail to install and take an incredibly long time (~5 mins), after which the game will load. When reloading the game, this dependency will attempt to install again. The dependency that fails is the Microsoft VC Redist 2012 version. Workaround: a. Navigate to $WINEPREFIX/.../Steam/steamapps/common/Magic 2015*/_CommonRedist/vcredist/2012 b. Delete or rename installscript.vdf to prevent Steam from installing it. WARNING ======= This game is prone to data corruption and/or data loss. For example, winecfg allows you to change your Windows version (e.g., from Windows XP to Windows 7). This will definitely cause data loss. I recommend periodically backing up your data.
