From the official web site: Swiss Map online offers you all map scales and also high-resolution aerial photographs (orthofotos) of the whole of Switzerland. The data is available on the Internet. As far as you are concerned, this means that you always have the very latest data at your fingertips and can automatically benefit from revisions. Furthermore, it includes the snowshoe and ski routes and the whole SwitzerlandMobility route network, which also features the cycle paths. Swiss Map online is also available as a network/multi-user license and can ideally be used in companies or as a teaching aid in schools.

The application seem to install and work properly. Maps, orthophotos and other representations are loaded, can be layered and transparencies can be set. Views can also be printed.

What does not

Graphic acceleration seem not to be available: for instance, there's a slight delay when drawing paths on the map.

Additional Comments

Installation performed on Slackware GNU/Linux 14.1 32 bit. The latest (1.7.22) official Wine binary package for Slackware was used: the package is maintained by Simone Giustetti and is available on the Wine website. The required dependencies (fontforge and webcore-fonts) were built using scripts from SlackBuilds.org. Note: the installed Swiss Map executable has to be launched from within the installation directory (see below), otherwise the application won't start due to file paths issues. Default path: ~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Swiss Map online/
