What works

  • ZLauncher
  • Zelda Classic
  • ZQuest

This includes all sets and using custom quests. The program is natively portable, so no installation required.

What does not

  • Sound
  • The Armageddon Games logo animation has no FPS cap, so run too quickly. No other animation has this issue.
  • Some prompts require you to press the enter key twice for the command to actually register. This does not happen in actual gameplay, just the menus.
  • When selecting a custom quest, the open folder dialog can't auto detect the Z:\ drive, but if you type in the path manually, it reads the folder(s) properly.

Workarounds

What was not tested

  • Custom quests besides the old 210test.qst.

Additional Comments

There is a Linux version that works exactly the same way, but without the minor bugs mentioned above. Additionally, if the working directory isn't the one with the binaries, ZLauncher can't find Zelda Classic or ZQuest. The Linux version has the same issue, so it isn't a Wine related bug.
