Archeage

What works

Everything runs perfectly. I played for a total of about 8 hours in the past 2 days.

-PvP

-Huge RaidvRaid PvP

-Naval Battles

-Trade Runs

-Crafting

All stable with no crashing/glitches whatsoever.

What does not

-Exiting the game. It'll freeze once the timer hits 1 so you'll have to end process. Issue with this is if you do this in-game, none of your settings or ui changes that you may have made will not be saved. However, there is a workaround for this provided below.

-There is a minor graphical bug with the characters sometimes, this is due to the shaders... it happens on Windows as well, but sadly the fix on windows (deleting the shaders folder) does not fix it here on Wine. It's semi-rare and pretty minor, in my opinion.

Workarounds

-Exiting the game causes a freeze and settings don't save. A simple workaround for this is just going to character select before exiting the game and all of your settings and ui changes will be saved. :)

What was not tested

-The arena was not tested, but I doubt there are any issues there.

-How I got this running-

I used wine-overwatch-2.17 to run the game which you can grab from here.

Download directx9 from winetricks. You can read how to do so here.

Be sure to use Devilian's glyph provided here. Normal glyph no longer works.

In winecfgs, make sure it's set to Windows 7 and then simply run Glyph and install the game.

Make sure you have Archeage in DX9 mode, otherwise you'll just get a black screen. You can set this in the settings.cfg which is located at /home/yourusername/.wine/drive_c/users/yourusername/My Documents/ArcheAge/

Note: you'll have to run the game first in order for it to appear there.

-My settings & Specs

I played this on windowed mode with everything turned off and set to low. I get a smooth steady 60fps outside of pvp and around 25fps in raid v raids. These are the same framerates I get on Windows as well. I play on:

Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti

AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 960T Processor

8gb of Ram

-Glyph workaround just in-case

If for some reason you run into the issue of Archeage not showing up anymore on the latest glyph that was linked above, you can download an older version of glyph which I'll provide here. Simply run it via wine, uninstall any previous glyph installations, disable your internet, install, and once it's launched it'll give an error saying that it is unable to download the latest version of glyph but the login prompt will be there. Just re-enable your internet, login, and play. Just remember to disable your internet each time you launch glyph so that it doesn't update to the latest version of glyph.
