What works

Everything, after a lengthy process to get it to work.

What does not

Legacy version for XP fails to install due to .NET 3.5 SP1 installer fault. Installs with Mono present but will not run. Download the regular version for Windows Vista/7/8

Additional Comments

Download Winetricks. Choose to install the Dotnet4.5 package. A 32 bit Wine prefix is a must or .NET will not install. To create, type WINEPREFIX='/path/to/your/prefix' WINEARCH='win32' wine 'wineboot' in a terminal. You will be prompted to download a few required packages yourself along the way. Just follow the instructions and reload winetricks. You may have to delete your wine prefix a few times due to a bug in the winetricks script where it tries to resolve a conflict with the .NET 2.0 it installed previously but can't uninstall it. Do this a few times and you will eventually get it installed. Set Wine version to Windows 7. Run the installer for the app. After install, set Wine version to Windows 2003. The app will crash in a hard lock after scanning for games and trying to update the mod list if you don't do this. After that, enjoy! Good app that runs good, but not very easy to get running.

does install, but doesn't run
by Steffen Herzfeldt on Thursday April 19th 2018, 10:02
install instructions might be useful.

on linuxmint 18.3 PlayOnLinux and wine 2.22:
wineprefix is 64bit win7 as it will be needed for the games i want to play.
steam and skyrim already installed, SKSE doesn't run.
NMM downloaded and installed, but NMM doesn't run.
Script extender

Did you manage to get script extenders to work with nexus mod manager?

i hope SKSE will run, once started by NMM
Problems signing in or updating
by Nate on Wednesday November 26th 2014, 21:31
I'm curious if you ran into any issues with NMM trying to establish a connection while signing in or while attempting to update.

The only thing I see in the debug output that looks like it may be related (just because it shows up so much while NMM is attemping this) is the following:

fixme:winhttp:get_system_proxy_autoconfig_url no support on this platform

Googling hasn't yielded much in terms of solving that particular issue (again, not sure if that's really the culprit).
