What does not
What was not tested
Everything's been tested in both trial and full version mode.
1) Use either winetricks or playonlinux to install wmp10 2) Before you can install SONY Sound Forge, you have to change the windows version from XP to 7 or Vista. In PlayOnLinux, you do this under Configure > "your SoundForge" wine bottle folder > Wine > Configure Wine. 3) Run the installation program and create the application icon. 4) Back to Configure Wine, set Windows version back to XP and install dotnet20. Now you can start Sound Forge and register or use the free trial. NOTE! If you do not install dotnet20, you'll get a "function missing" error whenever you boot up Sony Sound Forge. This does not effect the program itself, but seeing this error every time is kinda annoying. Also, DO NOT install dotnet40 instead, this will give you an "error 0x80131700". Again this has no effect on Sound Forge. But again, it's kinda annoying. Bonus tip: You can get rid of the Sound Forge splash screen by going to Options > Preferences and un-check "show logo splash screen on startup".
