Additional Comments
Installed from full back-up copy downloaded from GOG using WINEARCH=win32 (32-bit mode) argument with WINE.
Multiple errors appeared at the end of installation but had no noticeable effect on the installing or running of the game. The only glitch so far is that after exiting the game, the screen resolution re-adjusting caused my desktop icons to be moved around, I'm currently testing ways to fix this.
Also, adjusting sound levels appears to have little effect.

I'm on Lubuntu 17.10 and wine 2.0.3. Is there a simple fix like adding some missing 32-bit libraries or going over to the development branch, or should I file a bug report?

I tried both with and without "emulate desktop". I simply overwrote the executable "Pharoah.exe" in the game folder with the widescreen-patched one [after backing up the original], but to no avail. Tried with several different resolutions.
Anyone managed to get it working?
