1) Install winetricks from Debian repo and download winetricks manually last version

2) Install from winetricks gui (last version) - dotnet45 (it's auto load dotnet40, older version not needed) *

* before install dotnet, i install msxml3 , which i load manually into cache folder, but i think it's not necessary

3) Just install dppw4.7.20-installer.exe and run

Didn't manage to start the installer of 4.14
by Stphane Magnenat on Sunday July 4th 2021, 5:10
I've been trying to install version 4.14 on Wine 5.0 on Ubuntu 20.04. I have dotnet45 and msxml3 installed through winetricks. Using either an old 32 bits or a brand new 64 bits wine installation, I always get the error "This software is not compatible with your operating system". If the system is set to Windows 10 I get this error message in a visually themed window, if it is an older version of Windows, I get the same message in a standard Win32 dialog.

Actually I had a broken wine64 installation, by fixing it (with WINEARCH=win64 WINEPREFIX=~/.wine64) I get the administrator privilege error as mentioned in another post.

Could you please describe all the steps to make DPP start?
I've passed a very long quest to make it run (export export LANG=en_US.UTF-8, increased open file handles limit, put native mscoree.dll and mscorees.dll in DPP's folder, applied some packages not available to winetricks and so on), but finally DPP raises a bunch of errors and starts for a about 3 minutes :(

DPP 4.4.30 Install on Ubuntu 16.04 and Wine 1.9.18
by tom on Wednesday September 14th 2016, 7:56
After selecting Windows version 8.1 in winecfg and installing msxml3, I successfully run dppw4.4.30-installer.exe and installed the software. This created a launcher icon on my desktop. Unfortunately the launcher icon doesn't go beyond the DPP splash screen. Nothing happens and no error message is displayed. After reading the comments posted here I attempted to install dotnet45 (or earlier versions), but the install displays the following warning messages and fails:

This package does not work on a 64-bit installation
dotnet45 does not yet fully work or install on wine. Caveat emptor.
Mono does not appear to be installed.
If install fails, set /proc/sys/kernel/yama/ptrace_scope to 0. See bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30410
Working around wine bug 34803

Any suggestion on how to launch DPP is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

After some research, I found out that the root cause of my troubles was merely the use of a 64-bit wine prefix. The switch to a newly-created 32-bit prefix solved my problem and enabled me to successfully complete the install.
