What works
Installs fine in silent mode. Java .jar file opens and runs properly.
What does not
GUI offline installer shows no text and exits without action when a button is clicked (it's also possible I clicked the 'cancel' button, but without text it's hard to be sure).
Workarounds
Install in silent mode with the /s switch:
wine jre-8u231-windows-x64.exe /s
What was not tested
Probably a lot. it's infeasible to test the entire JRE.
