Additional Comments
There may be an alignment issue in "Simple view" with the boxes. The installer appears to be 32-bit and even installs in "Program Files (x86)". I don't think the 5.x 64-bit branch were ever released as stable. It is able to process 64-bit WUs. Tested using X over SSH. No overrides. BOINC is available for a wide array of platforms, and a lot of platforms are supported by the projects. You are probably better off asking a project to support your platform than using Wine to translate Windows calls.
It should be possible to use a native BOINC and run a Windows executable with Wine if absolutely necessary.
Test results for BOINC are still welcome as they help developers with Wine.
