HowTo / Notes

Technical Information
Includes Windows Media Player Codecs v8 for Windows Media Player 5.2 or later.  Uses DirectX 8 and FMOD.  SecuROM 4.82.01 is used by the CD version.
Installation notes

Mostly working except for one crash bug (#55730) that usually triggers whenever the graphical effects of a plot-fatal event occurs (like the protagonist meeting himself or the chapter timer expires).

Best to start with a clean 32-bit Wine directory (WINEARCH=win32).

Game needs native mfc42.dll (for the autostart menu on the CD at least). Install using winetricks.

The videos need 32-bit GStreamer mpeg1 (libav) and asf (ugly plugins), and possibly other codecs out of the GStreamer "good" plugins.

Game has trouble sizing properly fullscreen when the desktop extends across multiple displays.  Using a 800x600 virtual desktop (winecfg Graphics tab) will prevent the problem.
