What works

Installing, patching, logging in, playing, instances. Starting through Gameforge launcher everything works well. TERA launcher downloads, and patches without problem.

What does not

When trying to play there appears window about game using 3GB ram - you need to close it quickly, and go back to game window, otherwise it freezes.
Also, Gameforge Launcher doesn't run every 2nd or 3rd launch, but when it runs, it runs correctly (just a minor nuisance).

Workarounds

What was not tested

Extensive gameplay - just played few hours, but everything seems to work.

Launcher fails to start
by jonny on Monday August 3rd 2015, 12:58
I think I've tried over a hundred times and it has started before and I was able to log in and get into the game. But 90% of the time this is what I get:

fixme:winediag:start_process Wine Staging 1.7.47 is a testing version containing experimental patches.

It appears it's trying to use this iphlpapi and hung up on "get_dns_servers" . Anybody have any ideas on this?

To add to this, I've discovered that if I kill the wineserver by:
wineserver -k

and then try to launch, it has a higher probability of launching. And it will work sometimes, though the get_dns_servers error still persists... Not completely sure why it works sometimes .... Once the launcher is up everything works flawlessly.... it's just getting into the game
TERA online problems
by Eduardo on Saturday June 13th 2015, 17:06
Anyone know how to fix the 3GB problem in mac??

I installed everything and the launcher is working good, but when i click on play, there is a problem with the 3gb Boot.

There is no problem, just click on the message fast enough before game loads.

Or just use a 64-bit prefix.
winetricks vcrun2013
by kktsuri on Monday May 11th 2015, 12:31
After gunner patch, game crashes when dragging items from merchant or skills.

To solve this, do "winetricks vcrun2013" on the wine prefix with TERA, no need for unreleased winetricks anymore.

Got this from TERA NA Retail comment section, thanks to Eli Wapniarski.
Launcher Loading to infinity
by Luna Crane on Thursday May 7th 2015, 15:48
I keep getting stuck at the Launcher. Usually many parts of the Launcher menu show up but there is a horizontal Loading bar that just keeps loading non-stop. I can't even download the full game.

I applied the winetricks listed, but it doesn't really help. The Launcher seems to show up best when winecfg is set to Windows NT 4.0 . Anyone else getting the problem? Any ideas on a fix? Are there any other ways to get the game?

TERA launcher has many issues(not only in linux). I had an issue with non-progressing bar. Before running the launcher I disconnected internet, then ran launcher, clicked stop, connected internet, and it picked up connection. You may try this.
As to what is working best...I think its Windows XP - others got some issues for me.

Also tell exactly what message is in the bar.
RE: Launcher Loading to infinity

I fixed it with Wine Staging. The full download is also available via Torrent, which is the best for such a large download, although it still took a long time.

The bar didn't have any text.

Game also works with 64bit prefix, with slight performance increase. There can be error with webbrowser.cpp, but workaround is simple:
disconnect internet->run directly Tera-Launcher.exe->click stop->reconnect.

Installing flashplayer gives few more fps, but disabling HUD(ctrl-z) is still neccesary to have flawless gameplay.

In my case(radeon hd6870) using gallium nine drivers gave some further performance increase.
